Oh Dear
I wrote this one the day I got back from the east coast with my family. We had rented a cottage near Cavendish on Prince Edward Island and I had a lot of time to clear my head and get the creative juices flowing. I had written the music and was hanging out with Chris at his house. His girlfriend at the time was doing a fast and was only eating when it came time for sunset. Chris had been trying to keep up but was getting incredibly hungry. I remember him breaking the fast and telling her he just couldn't do it. That's when I wrote "Oh dear, I couldn't wait until the sun went down". The rest of the song that followed is just a mix of a bunch of one-liners and nonsense although there is an overall theme, I think..
